Update: This seems to be the better command line, for both w10 and 7, if you want a shortcut for the Desktop, taskbar, or wherever:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c echo off | clip

Got a text-to-speech reader that you want to shut up in a fair hurry? or just a clipboard that needs clearing out? Use the clip utility, It’s been in Windows, for I don’t know how long, but it’s there in 7 and 10.

@echo off | clip

^^ use that in a batch file (call it shutup.bat maybe), or make a shortcut of it on the Desktop <- that might be the best way; you can then give that shortcut a key combo. I used ALT+numpad3.

I know you can type a space and copy *that* over to get the same effect. It works, I guess. But where’s the geek in it?
