Welcome to this week’s Cross Thread Thursday, shared with all the folks at Whitenoise, Hackerspace, Groupthink, Powder Room, Odeck, Tay, Oppo, Backtalk, Clashtalk, CrossTalk, & Gawrker!

It’s the Day Before Friday! It’s supposed to finally be in the 90's here this weekend and the early part of next week so I’m thinking summer might finally be here, but I could be wrong. This is Michigan after all.

So, I didn’t manage to get a picture of it because it happened too fast this morning, but my blue Dobe got popped in the nose this morning by a pretty darned big Garter Snake! The dog of course thought, “New friend!” but he’d just have unintentionally killed it, so I put him in the house and by the time I could get my camera, the snake was off in my flower bed. But he looked like this!

This is the first snake I’ve seen out here and it was a good surprise this morning. The wildlife is sparse here compared to our last home. But my hummers are back and the bunny farm in the backyard is going strong, the frogs are singing, the Sandhill Cranes, deer and Geese are back...it’s nice.

So, if you’re in a house, what kind of wildlife do you see? If you’re in an apartment, do you hang a bird feeder at all? Do you enjoy the wildlife? Camp? Hike? Love wildlife? Hate it (though I can’t imagine that, but that’s me)? And what do you do when the weather gets steamy hot?

Let us know in the comments but as always, no politics here. There are too many other places to argue over all of that. :)
