I don’t know how others like their drive letters to appear in Windows, under Computer or Explorer. My preference is to have the letters after the name. That way, I can select a drive by tapping on the first letter of its name... e.g. S for Sandisk, K for Kingston etc. <- This isn’t possible if drive letters are shown first. It’s just a little extra convenience that I like to have, yet still see what letter the drive is assigned to.

This link shows how to do it, and how to undo it. It’s all said to work on Win7/8 and Vista.

For Windows 10, see this, if you want the letters to come first.

Hope you like.
