Media Player is still around in Windows 10. And it’s still launching the same old way by default, Library view. I didn’t want that to happen. I set up a shortcut that has this for a command:

“C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe” /prefetch:1 /Task:NowPlaying

The tip goes back aways, but so does the behavior.

I hate to rant. Ok I don’t. it seems, for everyone asking for help with a WMP issue, there’s some little shit out there, recommending a codec pack. <<< That does not help things, but on it goes, down through the years, on into tomorrow. Even when there’s no more Windows and no more Media Player, and no more media to play, someone will link to a codec pack that isn’t needed.
