Hello! Welcome to the Friday open thread, where we welcome the arrival of a new sub-blog to the Lifehacker family and wonder: when will Andy Orin get his own cat vertical?

As some of you know, when Andy is not interviewing Bill Nye and people with boring jobs, he does the more important work of running cats.kinja.com. He knows, and I know, that cats have nine lives and that this makes them the ultimate lifehackers. Or something. You should all read his planning memo for 2015. I have, and I'm confident that his adventurous energy and playful yet muscular vision will succeed in moving the needle in the purr-nalism space.

As always, today's open thread is brought to you by Hackerspace, a cat-advocacy NGO staffed by humans who seek the approval of their pet-masters the reader-run branch of Lifehacker. If you'd like to know more about us, please consult our guide. If you'd like to write for us, link us to a piece you've written on your personal Kinja blog and we'll share it to Hackerspace.
