a possible fix for stalled Windows 10 updates

I don’t know who will have need of this. If you have Win10 with the latest Creators update, and then your subsequent attempts at downloading further updates leave you stuck fast at a certain percentage, seemingly forever ...

and you’ve tried all the “net stop”, “net start”, “troubleshooter” fixes there are, like I did, you might want to try toggling your “metered” setting for your network connection. I turned mine off, temporarily, and finally Windows Update finished bringing down more goodies.

I found the setting after tapping my wifi connection and then its properties. Down the list, there it was. It can’t be too dissimilar for other types of connections, like wired ethernet. Anyway hope this helps somebody.
