Welcome to our Hacker home where we cross post toWhitenoise, Hackerspace, Groupthink, Powder Room, Odeck, Tay, Oppo, Backtalk, and Clashtalk. There’s still lots going on there so make sure you check them out. In the meantime, we are still here and Kinja is going strong. Most of the phantom problems from last week seem to be worked out and is working as usual. Whether that’s good or not is another discussion ;)

So, I posted a picture a couple weeks ago for the Betta tank (a gallon jar with filter, etc) that I was setting up at work. At the time, it was empty. I finally picked out a beautiful Betta last week, dropped him in the tank along with five Red Cherry Shrimp that were a good inch long and he promptly tore one to pieces! I thought they’d be way too big. I was sadly mistaken. Out he went into a cup, out went the remaining shrimp into a baggie, back in the tank went the Betta and he proceeded to torment my Nerite snail! Out he went into the cup again, snail into baggie with shrimp, Betta back into tank. And I took a black magic marker and wrote: This Is Killer. Get Close At Your Own Risk!

He comes to the glass and stares at me. A lot. I’m thinking he has the idea that if he was bigger, I’d be the next meal...

Check out a few posts from this week:

Giant Slug!

And a goodbye to one of my favorite actors. A great loss to the human race:

Goodbye Gene Wilder

What’s up with everyone this weekend? Labor Day! WOOHOO! I am taking Friday off for a long weekend. So tell me what your plans are because I’m still trying to make mine. Tell us what you did this week. What you want to do this weekend, anything at all! Except! Remember, this is a politics free zone. No politics. There are enough of those to go around everywhere else! ;)

As always, today’s open thread is brought to you by Hackerspace, a band of ragamuffins living in squalor who run the blog you’re currently reading. If you’re a person who wants an audience for your ramblings, we’re willing to pair you with an opportunity. Leave a message in the comments and we’ll see what we can do.
